I need an option on my Yahoo! Profile under “Marital Status” that’s not “Single And Looking” or “Single, Not Looking.”
Something along the lines of “Single And Bitter.”
To me, ‘single and looking’ always sounds too desperate, while ‘single and not looking’ always sounds too… unapproachable. I need something like ‘single, not technically looking for a relationship but not opposed to the idea if it happens, it all depends now doesn’t it?’.
Of course, I’m insane.

I think to suggest not actively looking but open would be.. ‘single, and available.’ Unfortunately, in this day and age, ‘available’ has been so overused it suggests being proactive. People go to bars and singles joints to actively *be* available. Although to deliver the proper impact, it’d prolly be more like, ‘single – no, I’m not *really* looking but ohh.. I wouldn’t *miiind* meeting and dating a nice wonderful person and I suppose you might be just such a person yourself but there’s only way to find out, hmm?? :)… but *no*, I’m not actively looking..’
They need a more subtle option.
